Granny's gone and done it again

Happy Easter! The water has dropped about 6in. The river is usually about a mile from this gate.

That part is parish road, so doubt we could do anything. I need to walk the trail one day so you can see how far the river actually is from camp. Flood stage is 15ft, it’s currently at 23. Thursday it was 4ft- rose 19 ft overnight. 4ft is usually where it stays. Tubing is really popular. When it’s a dry summer there have been times the campers carried their canoes more than they paddled. They jr/sr high take a canoe trip, about four miles. They pack a lunch, it takes about 7hours with stops. If a storm pops up and they paddle hard it’s much faster. They can canoe in rain, but not lightning.

I haven’t been in years, but it was always a wild adventure. Occasionally a snake will jump in from the water or drop from a tree and then it’s absolute pandemonium. There are also basketball sized wasp nests, so a staff person has to post nearby and get the kids to go around and not grab branches on that tree.
I want to go canoeing. Might have to head down there for some camping one of these days! Never been in the South, other than a brief visit to Florida when I was 15 to see Disney World (before EPCOT opened :().

Skating phew it's been years :th
Kind of has lost it's allure for me now that I'm older and the ground is so much farther down there... a lot farther to fall! Walk along the shore is much more appealing.

she was in Hocus Pocus one of the Sanderson Sisters (witches) Along with Bette Middler and the ditzy blonde
You are wealth of entertainment trivia. If we could find you the right game show, you'd clean up!

much easier to slide/dance in leather soled shoes/boots and then you don't look like your "tromping grapes for wine either"
sigh... I'll look like a grape stomper no matter what is on my generously sized tootsies. Never have been able to wear boots... my arch and instep are so high, can't get my foot in. So maybe not sneakers, but how about huaraches for dancing? :D

Come on! The weather is reasonable for about another 10 weeks, so plenty of time. We have reasonable rates. Overnight is $22 per person (if you’re methodist then you get a $3 discount!) and the yurts are $10 a night per person. I’ll cook for you. :D I don’t know the canoe rates because we use a guy, but judging by how busy he stays it must be reasonable.

Not every kid that can say they have to take a boat to school! They must love it!

The novelty has worn off. I’m glad that DH waded again because I was not looking forward to paddling across, and I use that term loosely because there are no paddles, just two long branches that we used to push along the bottom.

what if your Catholic ? do the rates triple? hahaaa
