He protects his little harem. I only have 5 tiny hens left.he just don’t like big women. They make him not feel like a roo. And he thinks he’s in charge!
I have an Icelandic hen that has sat 3 sets of colored eggs for 7 days each before finding out they weren't fertile. Poor thing, plus for a week prior I was having to chase her out of the nestbox. I just need for some of these green & blue egg layers to be fertile soon. My roo just doesn't seem to be doing his job lately. Maybe he's depressed over the snow as well.lol I have a broody that has been broody since before the first batch of chicks were hatched. She actually hatched 3 the 2nd time (almost 4 weeks ago) but refuses to care for them other than keeping them warm. She’s very stubborn and I thought had her broke. Nope!
Ok I’m seriously going to bed now.

I just saw 13 guineas for sale, mostly hens, $100! 9 months old, just started laying.I swear I’m not buying anymore eggs. These are just replacements for the ones I just lost.
Yeah replacements sound like a good excuse...now how do I explain the other eggs? Lol
I love his books! I used to read them to DS.
