I found a critter DEAD thank God in the dog food tote in the garage last nite IT wasn't a mouse But I have no idea what it was.

Very dark grey fur but no ears to speak of like a mouse definitely a male. just the incisors from what I could see shortish tail. tiny eye's

Shrews have more pointed front teeth, (sort of cat like). Rodents (vole) have wide flat teeth front teeth (think beaver!)

Jubilee Orpingtons!! yes yes yes! Rolly poley tolbunts!! Although they are all nice, and personally I love the CLs. That lavender looks like a young cockerel to me with those long pointed saddle feathers. The lavenders are pretty, but the feathers tend to be weak and can get ratty looking.

I have the brooder ready with 2 heat lights just in case one blows. LOL I am getting 3 JO and one LO. unless I find some money around the house; LOL CB dont like the CCL . He loved the JO I just showed him.

Love my Buster Posey cuckoo Orp! If you find any extra money around the house, you better save it to buy feed! They have big appetites to match their size.

Have I seen Buster ? I know they take 18 months to reach full potential. My buff still isnt grown from spring hatch. Getting there though.

lot of people do. I think my eyesight just leads me to the "show off " colors. I cant remember what kind of chicken I had that were grey. These are supposed to breed true.

I did not make it to the office party. Downtown Petaluma is a friggin black hole! It was so crowded, so many cars and pedestrians, so many one way streets and unmarked turn only lanes, what a nightmare! Google led me astray by trying to send me down a street with big DO NOT ENTER signs. I finally found a parking garage near the restaurant... not a single space, got all the way to the top only to encounter a concrete wall. Had to wait my turn to back up and turn around. Left the garage, no spaces on the way down, and thought I'd keep looking for street parking, but oh no, made one left turn and suddenly I am back on the wrong side of the river!

Stopped and texted my sister to make my apologies to everyone, but I give up! An hour of my life I will never get back.

She said she wouldn't be there either if she didn't have to be. Food was bad too. #1 said his fish and chips were awful. Has to be bad if a teenage boy doesn't like his fried food! But on the bright side, I had time for a couple of errands and was not late picking up #2. Then chores, and hubs and I cruised into town and looked around a bit and brought home burritos for dinner. yummy!

And now I have caught up 17 pages!

Did CB whine about having to wait for his gifts? They're not really a huge deal. Hope it won't be too anticlimactic Christmas morning!

English refers to the Orpington breed, as they have a slightly different standard from the American Orp. I believe English are larger and rounder.

Buster is the hen that raised my feed store chicks this summer. I don't have good pics of her standing. Very impressive when she stands. So much larger than any other chicken here. She's friendlier now, so maybe she won't be so terrified of the camera!
