Granny's gone and done it again

ooh, 68? I would have to have a heater in the winter for sure. We were at Petco when I saw the guppies. I think there were females, but didn't pay much attention... to busy watching the male with the beautiful yellow tail. Males don't fight, then?
No fighting, but i kept mine at higher temps than Granny. The males are crazy busy trying to breed all the females.

Anyone know anything about young turkeys? I have one that didn't leave the lean-to today that i know of. ( i was gone all day. ) Just kind of moping around. Anyway, i put electrolytes and vitamins in the water but idk if she is eating or not. I held her up to the waterer and stuck her beak in it and she drank some. Thinking maybe coccidia. Wondering about a dosage of Corid for them. Maybe i can look it up. Its hard to know if poo is abnormal because they poo everywhere, and which poo is hers? Her bottom doesn't look messy. Saying her, but not really sure. Some of the older ones are boys for sure, heard one gobble today!

Are all guppies the same species? Some look very much like Betta fish to me.

This is what I think of as a guppy.

And this one is a fancy guppy (Poecilia reticulata) which looks like a Betta. Are these the same species? Can they interbreed? (if one was female! :D)

Correct; there's different species in the Guppy (Poecilia) family..
Look, this is more like the male they got out of the river before they started 'selective breeding' them..

And of course, all females are plain colored, or were before 'selective breeding' started.. It's not unusual today to find a female fancy guppy with almost as much color as a male..

They've been selective breeding tropical fish for probably over one hundred years.. Selective breeding of any kind goes back a few centuries, i think..

BTW, a little history.. The father of the James Bond's movies Albert Broccoli's father, was a horticulturist, he crossed the cauliflower with another plant and came up the broccoli we buy at the supermarkets today..
