I told him about the mower and he got on it and mowed a few strips out front including my lilac and day lillys. He said he will be back w/ his son today. Bye bye flowers and shrubs.

He probably couldn't see them! Those day lilies are indestructible. About the only desirable plant I know of that will grow whether you want it to or try to kill it.

Sooooo many fireworks going off all over the place (and not all of them legal) but it was fun... expect for the smoke from the fireworks.

Especially if they started another wild fire. Stupid people.

Have to nag you a little... if you have the type of skin that burns and blisters, you should avoid getting burned. Every sunburn incident increases your chance for skin cancer down the road, and blistering is an even bigger risk. Being tan isn't worth it.

Yeah!! DW has some long sleeve swim shirts that have SPF protection so she doesn't have to slather on lotion for a 20 minute wander around the pool. I think they came from Land's End though it could be LL Bean.

lol I am. I get my skin from my grandma, everyone else got grandpas red skin.

I had to cull a baby quail this morning .
it was a cute cuddly one but it had a fused ankle. I used the rock on rock method. Works well. Fricking sad though.

Oh, Good morning Grannyland! Kiki is within 100 likes of catching me in the #1 spot but i am not going to worry about it. I have been" Queen" for more than a day. I just have had too much to do to be on BYC as much as i would like. More important to take care of the animals, especially in this heat.

Lol they have the good red and I have the bad. But truthfully it’s gotten better. When I was younger I’d be burnt for weeks without more exposure. I was miserable.

Although a blistered back and burnt buns hurt too
