No, they are mostly in the shade of bigger trees. I can send you seeds but idk if these are hardy in your area.

they are growing all over out back in the woods. I just rarely see a fruit on them. Like one fruit every few yrs and then its gone before its ripe

They taste kind of like mango banana is about as close as i can figure. I don't care for mangoes or bananas but the bears love them.

Mom said Pawpaws were sorta like bananas but she also said they need to get frosted on before you eat them. They turn black. I dont think thats how Cap eats them if I am remembering right.

I am not much of a fan, but some people like them. The fruit doesn't ship well so many people never heard of them.

you would think w/ 50 trees in the back and more every yr I could at least get to taste one. We have persimmon trees here too I heard those are nasty except for jelly

So i was taking a quick trip to close up the coops. I go to pick eggs, no SS eggs. I usually get at least one out of 3 hens. I go look for Polish eggs, one in the run, 4 in the nest box. Danged light is not working in there, probably due to rain but i can fix it tomorrow. Then i notice the polish drank most of their water. And next i notice the snake trying to climb the wall! I am fed up with these snakes. Another king snake, a small one, mabe 18". So i am carrying this snake and trying to find something to put it in. Found a plastic storage bin with a lid. Put it in there, tape it shut. I think i live in snake central!

I am glad i went to that swap today. Gives you a different perspective. I think i was asking too much for the quail for that market but i can probably get that much and more at the Glen Allen swap this fall.
When i came home i put the rabbits away and decided to sex my quails i was bringing back and band their legs. Luckily i have a lot more hens than roos! I sorted them according to color, but i still have a couple of bins to do. I must have over 100 quail! But they only count for about 1/5 of a chicken...

Not as bad as Camping. I dont think anyone is. I am lucky I havent seen any in the coops. I didnt get any eggs today !

I'm being lazy and struggling to stay awake... up all night with the heat and the wind worried about another fire. Sketty sounds good. We are supposed to be having Alfredo... chicken or shrimp... just as soon as I get off my rear...

There was a tree full of fruit behind the hose where I was staying. Didn't know what it was 'til I saw Cap's picture.

Not very cold in the summer. Besides, the truck probably has a heater...
