It may be certain parts of the country too. Or maybe just individual people. My grandparents kept dogs and cats for pets... inside mostly. They had a Siamese cat named Chang that died from old age, sitting in his usual spot on Grandma's lap in the evening (maybe late 1950s). All grandma's old picture albums have the pets included. Even their first dog, King, they got after they got married in late 1930's. Now my dad never had pets, but mom made up for it!Wishing, People have come a long way from the old days. Cats werent allowed in the house. If you swallowed a hair it would turn into a worm. Cats are for girls. My own mother had to drown them . They are still considered wild animals by dog pounds .. I think we have progressed pretty good in a short time.
I hope they are safe.Just found out today that my "baby" brother got mandatory evacuated yesterday. He said they had "too much warning" as his wife kept finding "treasures" she couldn't leave at home. Plus 2 dogs, his mother in law and the cat it took over an hour to catch.

Thats interesting. As I was writing the post it reminded me of Egypt and their cats. I think country folk for the most part felt that way.It may be certain parts of the country too.
