I need food in my stomach to take them. Have to wait a bit after eating, though. My younger son has been sick, so I blame him.

you know, I think it is possible .. Very remote of course but think about it.. Did he help you make Christmas cards or maybe the germ was in you already. And this germ can last 48 hrs. on paper. or who licked the envelopes ?

What about a row of milk crates or dollar tree baskets? I'm sure they'd rather lay in clean nests.

I use hay or shavings, whichever I have at the time. Mine seem to prefer hay.

Some fall through but they don't sift out like sand. They pretty much stay. Don't buy them! See if you can find some by a dumpster, or for trade. Cat pans work too.
