I some sort of beetle in mine and they eat a lot! I’d open the container and there’d be a handful of dust on top of the food.

I draw it up in a syringe and put it directly in their mouth. I scruff them when doing it.

Sorry was driving. I put it the side of mouth. Less chance of spitting it out. Go slow, a little bit at a time or it will drip out.

Alley that’s a gorgeous betta!!!

That’s on my to do list in the land of spare oom. Want to get a dresser in here for storing of extra blankets/sewing fabrics etc and get my little five gal set up again for a betta.

Thanks! I really like his color, still thinking of a name. He seems calm so he might get friends.

I know, I need another but have no room. I’d like a tall dresser with deep drawers.
What kind of betta would you get? Walmart has the cheapest here, I looked in the pet store but they wanted $12 for a normal beta!

How many bettas can be kept together in the same aquarium? That answer depends on the sex of the betta. Only one male can be kept in an aquarium, as males will fight with one another (hence their common name, Siamese fighting fish). In the wild, one would retreat. But that isn't possible in an aquarium and so they continue to fight, often to the death of one or both.

Females are a bit more tolerant of each other. As many can be kept together as there is adequate room for in the aquarium. However, if it becomes too crowded they may start showing territorial behavior.

You should not mix males and females in the same tank, other than temporarily for breeding purposes.
