I take it you wont be tanning any hides Twist ? Some they did was traditional , not necessary. Like rubbing brains on the hide and IMO taking the fur off ruined it anyway

yep more research is needed, I definitely want to keep the "fur" otherwise why even bother.

People around here seem to do a lot of it. I remember scraping, salting and beating it to soften. None of that other stuff. well, soaking helps get the meat off and stretching it helps everything.

maybe carrots will help "tame" down the new girls.

The Royal Sunny likes head scratches until she doesn't and then trys to "smack" your hand with her horns. BUT Rod outsmarted her and she smacked herself against a railroad tie/post instead. Happens enough she "might" learn. We were warned of this "habit" of hers by the pervious owner .
