I want to start small as a side business and probably run it myself with maybe some help from my wife ( I might have one of those some day ) I wanted 3 different coops. 2 big enough for 40-50 birds and the third a little smaller for my personal flock. In one coop I'd have a popular breed that I could get my name out with and some money coming in and the other coop a more rare breed. Once I sell out I'd replenish the popular breed but get a different rare breed and if I like the new breeds I'm selling I might keep one for my personal flock.

Wives aren't always all they're cracked up to be (per my husband, lol)...........aside from that, sounds like a great plan!

I also never waste food. That's why I love chickens!!

Oh, yes, I grouse every time I am in the kitchen scraping plates, etc about throwing away all that "perfectly good chicken food" --- I actually have a large bag of "farm food" (odd and end bread pieces and veggie trimmings) in the freezer for the next time I go to see my sister/mom --- lots of goodies saved for her herd and flock.
