I had that happen once. A senior pit bull female, a lot like Hank actually. I gave her food but instead of eating she just sat beside me with her head in my lap. I took her to the vet to get checked out, and she had bad heart worms. He didn’t think she’d tolerate treatment, but said she could probably have a few good months. I had her put down, and I still think about it all the time. I had her for a few hours but I cried for weeks.

Some just touch our hearts. It doesn't take long to bond. I bet you were a comfort to her.

He was approx. 55 pounds, Australian shepherd, never tied up a day always ran free

I can’t even wrap my brain around winter weather right now. My grocery store has garden plants outside and poinsettias inside. The farmer’s almanac emailed and told me to start peppers and tomatoes, and y’all are measuring snow depth. Life is wild.
