I love crested birds -- had Polish when I was younger, they were "exotic" for where we lived so I always did very well with them at the fair, lol.  I keep bringing up crested breeds and neither DH nor DS are enthusiasts......I thought for sure DH would like their "hairdo's"

 
CB just cooked burgers for everyone and Tom came out asking for another. Said it was the best burger he had ever ate.

Well, then, sounds like he may have found his special skill -- given how much you loathe kitchen duty and the mixed reception some of your efforts get from those choosy buggars you live with I'd say let him start venturing in there more often. 

 

they were smoked to 150* internal temp  in the thickest one.    BUT  hopefully will be good for beans, tater, split pea , and other soups

They should be great for that -- maybe they were smoked to hot/fast to give them the time to really reach perfection?

Hi Mare, I'm so glad he's on the mend too. That little boy has been sick since the first week of Dec. Way too long!

Hi everyone, wanted to thank you all for the prayers for my gs. He is improving, he is eating a little & starting play a little. Still not a 100%, but the fact that he's not just laying around or sleeping constantly is a big improvement. He does have a Dr. appointment tomorrow to recheck his ears & possible 2nd antibiotic shot. Glad he's going in as he has broke out in a rash on his belly & back today.
@Wishing4Wings so sorry about #1's friend. Glad you all went to the memorial. Many prayers for this family that has lost so much. And may the guilty be caught & held responsible for his/her/their actions. I can't even imagine the pain they are suffering.

Glad to hear gs is getting better. It's so hard when they are little. Thank you for the prayers. I think my son touched them so much because it brought back al the good memories of when their son was young and all the promise of the future. What happened is really unthinkable.
