Granny's gone and done it again

Mine won't eat it, but they are not cooped up. They might out of boredom if it's all there was. I think too much acid can mess with their blood chemistry, like using too much ACV in hot weather makes them less tolerant. Moderation is the key!

you put an egg in vinegar and it turns to rubber right ? But then you give it to the hens . I dont understand that.

Holy crumbs what a long day.

Plumbing woes are taken care of - well, hubs still has to reinstall second bathroom toilet but...it was what he expected. Just old sediment and debris from the house not being lived in for eleven years and then the remodel. We rented a camera thing and a snakey thing from Home Depot but the camera thing could only go so far due to some strange 90s and in the end it was the air compressor on his service truck that saved the day. So yes. Our drains are running. And there was much rejoicing.

And...we got my girls home. :) yay my chickens moved like champs.

He blew the poop away ?

I was waiting for a break in the rain to go out and lock up, so it's dark now. Dogs ran ahead of me walking across the patio, and just as I was taking a step, flashlight outlined something that looked like a leaf blowing right under my heel. Crunch... not a leaf... more like a pine cone. It was a big beautiful western toad.

I didn't kill it, but sure didn't do it any good. Put it over by the big rock that I think it lives under and went to check the chooks. Came back and it was still there, looking at me with those big dark toady eyes. Was walking around to talk a closer look and it was gone! Under the rock I'm sure and it was good enough to do that, so hopefully it will survive me mashing it. I love those toads. Except when they pee on you.

So happy for you star. Glad it was not a serious matter. And congrats on getting the ladies to their new home.
