They have a huge layer of fat. What did you prefere doing, skinning or plucking ?que ?? Haven't butchered a hen, and the drakes we did last fall were around a year old.
Ya well, they eat goat so..probably I had heard that old roos were "nasty" and thought naw so tried ONE myself and nope "they" were right. Rod and Robert had to try a few times before they "learned'

I know you have a lot of experince w/ this but isnt 3 young to butcher ?I am thinking skinning for the stewing hens.
We still need to do Erv's 15 roo's and most of the drakes and I think possibly the rest of the old EE's slackers and I think the youngest is 3 years old.
Are you still saving me bacon grease ?
