early SAD ? Its so hot here. full sunshine and dry. Ohio went into an official drought today. I didnt hear about In.

Most of my hens are either finishing up their molt or have just started. Spike, who has finally moved out of the garage, kind of exploded in the coop last night... feathers everywhere. She looks very patchy and there is one lone tail feather sticking straight up! One of Legbars is like that 2. Only Ginger, the 2yr Welsummer is still laying. Her and one of the Seramas. Eggs are precious now.

We are still waiting on the first rain. We haven't had more than a few foggy mornings this summer either. Very unusual for us. Keeps things a bit damp for part of the day at least. Tomatoes have been happy. Temps have been cooler than normal lately. Can't complain too much... better than the heat.

So as Tom and I were leaving today I heard a helicopter and it was loud but staying in the same spot. I figured bad wreck . We get on our road and there it was. hovering overhead. We get up even to it and its Crash Bang !! WTH? It was chopping trees down ! Had a rope dangling down w/?? and they were falling fast and hard.
