Granny's gone and done it again

Wish they bothered sleeping at night.

Hubs and I were driving into town, and saw an unusual roadkill

River otter. Poor thing. We couldn't tell what it was at first. I made hubs turn around and he pulled it off to the side of the road. You can't tell from the pic, but they have the most beautiful fur. So plush. There aren't any rivers near, but a couple of reservoirs, one on each side of the road. We think she was trying to get over there...

It must have just happened. She was still bleeding out her nose. She was just there on the road. Wish folks would just slow down a bit. God forbid it might take 60 extra seconds to get wherever they are going.

awww, poor thing. Good of your DH to move her. I THINK I seen one of those here. Never did really know what it was but it was down the road from me going in the creek.

Yeah, then the vultures won't get killed when they come to eat.
Otters act a lot like dogs. Hubs and I were up north on the Eel River once, long time ago (before he was hubs) and there was an otter swimming right near us. Seemed very interested in my dog, Lucy. Kept swimming really close and dove down when Lucy barked, then it would pop back up just out of reach and continue to taunt her. I think it was playing.
