Rod had to pull Porter out of the creek evidently Porter had a hind leg stuck? behind him and couldn't get out. As of darkish he hadn't "really" moved from where Rod left him up and out of the creek.
Said it didn't look like a broker leg to him and he has worked cattle for years. Should I have to haul him to the vet not sure how I would either get the trailer down to him or him up to the gate to load him up. AND not sure the vet would be willing to work/check on Porter in the middle of the big pasture.

oh hell. that creek is a death trap. Will a vet even try to fix a busted leg n such a heavy animal?

nope it would be a hindleg. I am hoping he was just really sore or pulled a muscle and didn't want to use/walk on it.

Not much I can do about the creek. cant afford to "fill it in" and one flash flood or HEAVEY spring melt and all the fill would be washed away.

Bruce, Those fridges have ice and water and no filter ?

Dad's does. We didn't get the water and ice in the door kind. That stuff is prone to breaking down. It does have an ice maker, bottom freezer.

and every time DH needs to get in the crawl space in the attic....he goes through my closet to get there. Only 2 closets in the cabin.

Which is why when I designed the rehab in our prior house the scuttle holes were NOT in a closet! One is in the full bath, basically mid point of the house on that ridge. The other is in the one bedroom covered by that section of roof (perpendicular to the peak of the original part of the house). It makes NO sense to me to put them in a closet.

Hey, the kid knows how to write a thank you note!!! Something my younger sister's kids apparently forgot when they got to their teen years. A couple of "no response" years and the birthday gifts stopped.

why does a hind leg matter ? How about fencing it off ? or fence a section and add a bridge

When I talked to my sister on her birthday I did ask her if she had ever told Myles what her 3 brothers used to do to her. The answer was a HUGE DEFINITELY NOT !!! Hum sounds like maybe I need to visit and give the boy a few pointers.
