Granny's gone and done it again

OH Twist, That happened to Frosty except she ran away right after surgery and was gone 3 days. I was a mess. I didnt sleep either. I even called radio stations , flooded FB and shelters everywhere. She was found a mile from home w/ her feet shredded from running.
I assume she didnt hurt herself jumping out ? Poor baby, poor you. I am so glad you found her. We should both go get them tagged . Umm. Microchipped. then addy on her tags.
Ninja edit, She was smart to return to the scene of the crime.

OMG! That is soooo sad!

Hi Laura. Do you have your sick chickens away from the others ? Its contagious you know. There is something people put o the scabs to help them dry up faster. I cant remember what it is. Make sure theres no standing water around that skeeters can breed in.
Thanks Granny!:hugsI know it is contagious - the others had it, but it's gone now for them. The vet said that it is probably too late now to isolate Tango. I refresh their water everyday-never have I got skeeters.:yesss: Tango is eating and drinking normally too - which is good.

Fowlpox is the worldwide disease of poultry caused by viruses of the family Poxviridae and the genus Avipoxvirus. ... There are two forms of the disease. The first is spread by biting insects (especially mosquitoes) and wound contamination and causes lesions on the comb, wattles, and beak.

That is exactly correct

One of the chickens has nasty butt, so I gave everyone a bit of ACV. Those Tolbunts had such a good time in their run. Eating dirt and sand, pecking any bugs they saw. I had to put each one through the wind baffle. Before I came in for supper, I threw some feed into the wind baffle, thinking they might go in and figure out how to get back in the coop.
