Morning all, No rest for the wicked. Been up since 5.Went to check on Tom and he says, I have decided to stay in bed today and rest. You mean I could of slept some more??? UG... So I go pour my coffee and went to the potty. As soon as I sat down that dang whistle blared over the baby monitor. I fly in there and he says, I changed my mind....

Just think of all the exercise you are getting!

I got 13" cut off my hair today! Hubby even noticed. It's going to be so much cooler!

I cut mine last month... so much quicker to wash and yes, much cooler. I've never had 13" to cut off, though. I can't stand it in my face, so it has to be long enough to be pulled back.

I love your butterfly avatar. I just saw one of those, I guess swallowtail?, this morning when I was watering. It was on the first cosmos to bloom. So pretty. Even the body and face is striped. Very cool. Wish I had gotten a picture. It looked particularly nice on the pinky-purple flower.

Now to get a tissue because I have been laughing so hard!

I leased one of my pastures to a neighbor for goats. They built a 3 sided shed about 8x10 but only 4 ft tall, just something the goats could get in out of the weather. Now the neighbors are gone, the goats are gone and I'm left with a short shed.

I hate getting short-shedded!

well I am going to put my legs up and zone , might actually eat something (first of the day) BUT still not hungry so might just "go with the flow"

something bit me. are flea bites supposed to hurt ? This hurt. I killed it but its very tiny. black I think. Lady came to see Tom and I Dont know what I was thinking when I told her I would walk to the top of the road. I was bare foot and OMG that hurt. I have blisters. crunchy weeds. I asked them to drive me back down and he parked where I had to walk through the gravel.

I was researching this. Seems there are a few things that might have bit you. Carpenter ants can hurt, but I think you would have recognized an ant. Blister beetles are to big for what you saw.
I think you may have encountered a Minute Pirate Bug. Arrrr matey! They apparently are quite painful and cause welts.

Hi, Wishing. You're pulling a Blue today, getting here as everybody's nodding off and snoring. How was your day?

I was a little lazy today. Got the watering done and the other essential things, but that's it. I needed to go for groceries and cat litter but procrastinated too long and it got later and hotter. Then my dad called. He's been living alone for the last 15yrs since my mom passed, so he likes to talk when he calls. Saves it all up for a week or so and then oh boy! Well, suffice to say that call ended any shopping plans. He olny lives about 5 minutes away from me! (I am 3rd generation hermit!) I will try to leave early tomorrow morning for the groceries. Supposed to be even hotter.

How are things in MO? Humid? ugh

Actually we are being blessed with a few days of NOT humid weather for a change! I think we get one or two more days of this then the heat and humidity indeces go up. Saturday we are looking at 94° and humid, gag! Then next week I think we are looking at storms again. Sigh. I really miss New Mexico. I used to joke that we didn't have weather in NM, every day was the same, clear and sunny.

Granny has no secrets!

Tom had blockages in the veins in his legs and had really restricted circulation. He got one leg cleaned out a couple years ago. That's when I went to IN to try to help, but failed in the timing. Granny handled it just fine on her own, but Tom had too much pain from the procedure and decided not to have the other leg fixed. Poor circulation and maybe some diabetes caused an ulcer on his foot that wouldn't heal. They did put a stent in that other leg, but it wasn't enough to get it to heal. The bone became infected and some had to be removed. Hopefully it will heal now so he can keep the foot and the chance to walk.
