My dad was so opposite of yours. I only got to talk to him on the phone if I called him, and then he couldn't get off the phone fast enough. This is my first Father's Day without him. I miss him.

Oh gee, NM sounds terrible!Actually we are being blessed with a few days of NOT humid weather for a change! I think we get one or two more days of this then the heat and humidity indeces go up. Saturday we are looking at 94° and humid, gag! Then next week I think we are looking at storms again. Sigh. I really miss New Mexico. I used to joke that we didn't have weather in NM, every day was the same, clear and sunny.
Oh, sorry to hear that. Is your mom still alive? My dad was so opposite of yours. I only got to talk to him on the phone if I called him, and then he couldn't get off the phone fast enough. This is my first Father's Day without him. I miss him.
Oh yes. You have to have AC, and not just for the temps and humidity but to filter the pollen and mold. I never had allergies before. Now I am on something like 5 allergy meds, year round. Eye drops, nasal spray and 2 or 3 oral meds. Just to breathe and not have sinus and ear infections. We live in the forest and the trees are covered in lichen or moss or mold, I don't know. I'm cold all the time, winter and summer. We keep the AC on 75 during the day, 73 at night and I'm freezing all the time. Low thyroid. I sleep with an electric blanket, lol. DH is always sweating! He probably has too much thyroid! But I won't complain, I joke, but I know God brought me here and I'm so blessed!Oh gee, NM sounds terrible!
Our part of northern CA has pretty nice weather, hot dry summers and mild wet winters, so summer humidity isn't normally a problem. Has been lately, and I can't imagine living in your summer, at least not without ac. You have air conditioning, don't you?
I am a total weather wimp now. Anything outside the range of 60-70 degrees and I am not happy!
No, Mom died in 2014, I think. I have a twin brother and a sister left and that's it. Two kids and 7 grands. Raising 2 of them.Oh, sorry to hear that. Is your mom still alive?
My dad is 87, and he wasn't always so chatty. He does better on his own than putting up with people that annoy him (which is most everybody after an hour or two!) so he is happy isolated on his 30 acres where I grew up. I'm glad you mentioned Father's day. Maybe well will have a bbq and have him over. He enjoys it a couple times a year, for an hour or two.![]()
No choice, sometimes, huh?Wow. I hope Tom's foot heals without incident. I'll tell you what, we women are heroic. Aren't we?
