Sorry Blue. I miss my Dad too.My dad was so opposite of yours. I only got to talk to him on the phone if I called him, and then he couldn't get off the phone fast enough. This is my first Father's Day without him. I miss him.
You are such a softy, Pro!
Is Crusty a fiddler crab with that overgrown claw?
Does your DH talk to him?
There’s so much pretty and cool stuff up not far from the border.Sounds wonderful. My #2 will be in Bozeman, about 4 hrs from Hamilton. I haven't seen much of MT yet. Several years ago, hubs took the boys to Glacier National Park, they hiked to the continental divide, and drove up into Canada to Lake Louise. I figure I have 3 years to poke around up there while #2 finishes college. I can borrow my car back from him if I fly up for a visit!
oh no! Sorry to hear...I was laying here in bed and couldn't sleep. Took a pill. Still couldn't sleep because I was worried. This nonstop rain is making it chilly for the chicks. What if an extension cord got wet? They could end up with no heat. I had to go check. Turns out I was right to worry. Two jubilee Orps dead, and several chicks soaking wet. They had a light and a sweeter heater, but the ventilation and the fact that the waterer leaked all over the bedding meant they were wet and cold. Sheet. I put plywood over the ventilation, replaced the two extension cords with one longer one, put in a hotter bulb, pulled out the soaking wet puppy pad and shavings. Put in a new puppy pad, moved the water to the other end, added dry shavings. So now I lost total 3 orps and one Buff laced polish. That's really bad. I usually don't lose many chicks once they get over the first couple days. Of course I didn't lose a single Leghorn pullet out of 20. Thank goodness I checked or they might have all been dead by morning.
Good night everyone, maybe I can sleep now.
Just think of all the exercise you are getting!
It's good for you!
Don't smack me
I cut mine last month... so much quicker to wash and yes, much cooler. I've never had 13" to cut off, though. I can't stand it in my face, so it has to be long enough to be pulled back.
I love your butterfly avatar. I just saw one of those, I guess swallowtail?, this morning when I was watering. It was on the first cosmos to bloom. So pretty. Even the body and face is striped. Very cool. Wish I had gotten a picture. It looked particularly nice on the pinky-purple flower.
Sorry I wasn't here earlier to help you change the subject.
Now to get a tissue because I have been laughing so hard!
I hate getting short-shedded!
Sounds like a tough day. Hope you get some rest.
Is that man still living in your farm house?
Aww, sorry for your troubles and your losses! But so glad you trusted your instincts and were able to get the problems fixed. Funny how we can "feel" those issues, even from a distance, isn't it?
