Dang, I was gonna make granny look it up! My parents always said go look it up! Was not uncommon to have a dictionary at the dinner table. Much analysis about which word was best for the thought you were trying to convey. I always thought it was interesting. Got to thinking how in the world someone writes a dictionary... definitions are hard... very subtle distinctions.

Well, they normally would not walk like that, they walk like any other horse. They have been 'drawn up' into as tight of the fino gate as they can possibly get for their breeding.. These are $50-100 K horses from Colombia.

Thank you, @CSolis! Folks, at a trot the normal horse's hoofs hit the ground two hooves together. So it's a two-beat count. At this pace, each hoof hits the ground separately, for a four-beat count. There are always three feet on the ground, right, Cindy? Compared to this gait, the trot feels like a lurch! Am I correct in thinking I have seen demonstrations of riders going around with a tray in one hand with a wine glass on it to demonstrate the smoothness of this gait? You could not do that at a trot!
