I will be looking forward to your stories BobbiI would like to join in! A little about me! 50 acres, 3 horses, 2 miniature goats, 12 chickens, 5 peacocks, 3 muscovy ducks, 3 dogs, 1 cat and one on the way. lots of fun and lots of drama!LOL love my life and my farm! Happy weekend everyone!
I noticed by raising it above the shavings, less shavings get in the water. I also have been adding a tsp of apple cider vinegar to the water to 1) keep them from getting pasty butts, and 2) it adds nutrients to the water. They are growing ! Looks good and good idea on the chick feeder and water too.
I had just gotten into Sue Grafton's alphabet series, and she died last summer before she finished the alphabet.
We got to 103 and I thought that was hell... just baby hell compared to yours.109 with hardly any breeze. Feels like hell out there.
This is the first year I am really noticing the shortening of the days. I don't mind it, but I usually don't realize how short until about Sept.still raining on and off here. Getting dark already.
But if you hatch brine shrimp, aren't you going to get attached to them and try to keep them all?I took Robert to Orshlins today to look at guns. Their background check was down so nothing today. I got dirt for my flower pot but its still in the van. Went to the pet store out there and got some salt so I can hatch brine shrimp now when ever I get ready to. Babies seem to be doing good on the frozen stuff .
I was wiped out from the heat last night. It was still 90-something at 10pm and the low last night only went down to 70. (50's is typical for this time of year.) Not going to be quite so bad today. No one else here tonight ?
Even if you can find a gun, ammo is hard to get. Did you know about the wonderful new law in effect at the start of this year? CA now has a background check to buy ammo. Lawsuits have been filed, so we'll see...You can find a gun? They are cleaned out here.
He doesn't need such a big expensive gun to be independent. The thing is H2o, I dont want him to have the gun. But I want him to be independent .
Did you read it? I have it opened in a new tab to read when I finish this monster-mega-multiquote!gonna put this here to read later https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/00223980.2016.1175998
Are you going? Sounds like fun!there is going to be a huge swap here the 22nd. Ky. is coming over. petting zoo, pony rides, water slide and a master chef !
They are very dedicated mamas!I was thinking I might give a few chicks to those Seramas to raise.
I second what Granny said about them. Be careful introducing new chicks. I had one broody kill a day old chick that belonged to a second broody... or was it the third broody? Just be careful.I figured if it looked like the one they have they would accept it.
My Star isnt doing real well. She keeps bumping into me and her eyes are hazy and she dont come when I call her. she is 13 .
Glad they are ok, and they must smell MAH-VEL-US.my poor butt is on fire. LOL
Did I tell I keep my moms perfume on a shelf in my bathroom and it fell a couple days ago right into my babies fish tank? They are ok.
The power company was going to do rolling blackouts last night because of the heat and usage overwhelming the system. Not sure if that got cancelled, but lucky for me, I got to keep the fan on all night! That was the same day the lights in the house kept turning off.
Booze, alcohol in sealed bottles, will be the first most valuable currency if that happens. And after what we just experienced with the start of this pandemic, I'd have to add toilet paper to that list!Tell Robert I am going buy junk silver with my money. It will come in handy when the apocalypse happens.
When was that? I don't think that bridge is in use any more. They built the Sunshine Skyway bridge. And I did too ! And palmetto next door. There was a bridge going out of palmetto going the other way called the humpback bridge we jumped off of into the river below. I fished the Bradenton bridge.
I wonder why the videos won't play for you? The one you posted with the shetti chicks... could you watch that after you posted it here?aww they didnt play. I think he is ok. Keep an eye on his nails and spurs and trim them if needed. I put a concrete block in my runs for them to sharpen their beaks on.
How old is Bruiser? An adolescent cockerel can be very different as a mature rooster.there are several cinder blocks in the coop.. I'm going to have to learn about nail trimming though.
One thing I notice is, Bruiser always eats first, then allows his favorite lady to come eat with him.. then when they are done, the two other ladies get to eat. I've got multiple pans out there and divi the food up, but the two that eat last won't even leave the roost until they have gotten some kind of signal that it's okay to do so.
h2o already said it... most medication is part poison. And anesthesia? That just brings you a little closer to death for a short time.root is poison
Welcome Bobbi! Your set up sounds similar to how I grew up!I would like to join in!
