Kale, huh? I keep a bag of frozen kale in the freezer to add to rice in the rice pot.. Could I thaw some of that out and give it to my kids" Don't know as they would eat it.. They prefer I go out and weed eat then rake up all the weeds and stuff. New pile in the coops today,, dig dig, scratch scratch..

If I had any green stuff growing wild in the summer, that's what mine would get. Kale can take the heat and cold, so it grows well here, it's relatively cheap in the store fresh, and they like it better than cabbage. My little seramas have to stay locked up because of the quail eating hawks around, so I feel sorry for them. Such a boring life, especially after having free range for so long before the hawks came.

Plant the seeds in poor well drained soil. Cone flowers don't like rich soil much.
