This is George, my young Black Jersey Giant, next to one of my year-old EE hens last night. He matured rather slowly compared to the Black Australorp cockerels I got at the same time (who are all now in the freezer) but he is getting some nice size to him now. I just love him. He's calm and well-behaved. I think he's about 30 weeks old. The older rooster keeps him in line but he is breeding some of the hens and pullets.

I'v heard good things about JGs, nice temperaments and such. He has impressive wattles! Not done growing those, I bet. Pretty little EE. Unusual color. I like it!

Here's Bruiser with Mable. I saw him and Charlie Sheen having a discussion today. Charlie was bragging about his beautiful tail, while Bruiser was saying he had a nicer comb and wattles. LOL Bruiser's tail feathers are finally coming in.

Sorry Charlie, Bruiser has got it all over you with your humped back and shallow chest.
If you are breeding for good layers, Bruiser is the guy. And he will have a fantastic tail by the end of the year.

Got a call today at 11:30 that I was going to have an on-site interview, did I prefer today or tomorrow? I chose today. So I had 2.5 hours notice. I think it went pretty well. I wore fancy clothes and had copies of my resume, so I seemed pretty put together. I really think I’d be a good fit for them.

Exactly what aquaponics is based on. I have cement mixing tubs I use for hydroponics.. I learned how to make a bell siphon which is pretty easy.. Next step is just putting some goldie fish in the tub below the plant tubs. I'll have to build a new rack since I left the old one at the last place.

There is tons of stuff for sale online that cannot be shipped to CA or has other restrictions. Sometimes the sellers know this, sometimes they don't.

I forgot to give Tom his night time meds. I woke him up. I forgot mine last night.
I took the eggs on the slate to an empty tank then moved mama who didnt even pause in taking care of them and then I moved the dad who seems a little confused but also recognized his babies. Then I ate , got hot coffee and done for the night !
