Granny's gone and done it again

Just got back from my youngest daughter and her boyfriend's house. He fixed a roast for supper in honor of her 30th birthday. He's a pretty good cook. She thinks she's ancient now because she's no longer in her 20's. I have another daughter's birthday coming up later in the month. She'll be 51.
She feels old at 30? oh gee, she's got a long way to go to be old. I was most comfortable in my early 30s, physically and mentally. If I could pick an age, I'd be 33!

Did you ever see the movie Peggy Sue Got Married? If you could go back in time to be an earlier you, while keeping the wisdom and knowledge that you've earned over a long life, then I'd be willing to go back to any age. But 33ish for me was when I felt confident in my ability to take on whatever would come in life.

hi all, Microchick, lost your quote about the fish. I have a HOB filter. I took a bottle and made little holes like that one and a stocking over that. Hopefully the smaller holes I made today will help.
Wishing, I dont know if I saved any or not.
Tom missed his noon meds today so I took the iron out of it. He takes it 3xs a day. Its a start I guess.
age I would go back to? 30 I never felt better in my life then when I was pregnant w/ Robert.

Peeeeeeeeee Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! I just cleaned out the brooder 3 days ago.. Been adding more shavings to keep the peeps from walking in poooooo. Cleaned it out (down to the base) again this morning and the ammonia was awful... How can they poo so much? I'll never do more than 6 in there at one time again... crappy lil suckers!
Still only see 2 potential cockerels.. friendly lil cusses.. fly out to greet me and get snacks when I remove the screen from the top.

get some "Stall Fresh" and sprinkle some in the bottom of the box. UNREAL how much it helps.

I am a big fan of prong collars. Some people don't understand them and give you evil looks. I have heard some say, would you want that around your neck? Well, no, but my neck is not a dog neck with fewer sensory nerves.
But it allowed my very dominant big dog to respect the leash and go for walks calmly without issue. To me, that was worth a few judgemental looks.
AMEN!

For us it's having control. Cattle dogs are powerful, stubborn, hardheaded dogs. They like to control, not be controlled.

We liked the one we got so well we ordered a second so we can each take a dog out for a walk.

Diesel looks forwards to his walks now. When I close the doggy door, he knows it's his time. He's dancing, whining, mugging me for kisses, dancing some more. He sits and holds his head up for the collar to be put on and sits and holds his nose up for it to be removed. Walking, he's right at our side. We are working on 'heel' with him now and he is catching on fast.

I'll take Judgmental looks also. We tried nice martingale collars with no joy. These collars are making our dogs play 'nice' with us.

If somebody says something to me I think I'll look them in the eye and say, hey, I won't tell you how to raise your kids and you won't tell me how to train my dogs. These dogs aren't abused. They were being abused by the Amish puppy mill that was feeding them a raw dead goat kid and a raw rabbit when we found them.We love them, they know we love them and they love being with us. That is what the collars have done for us and them, allowed us to take them out with us for walks and be in control of them. Without the collars that wouldn't be happening.
