Granny's gone and done it again

Dog gonnit! Forgot taters to my soup recipe. Okay, add three large diced taters also.

@troyer, love your horse. I had a half app half Morgan mare. Her sire was a leopard app. She didn't leopard out but had white hairs peppered all over her. My very favorite horse breed is Appaloosas. Sass and brains mixed with an ample supply of plain old stubborn!

That's about what I can usually manage for breakfast too, Granny, a small scrambled egg and one piece of toast. Fills me right up and I'm not hungry again till afternoon when I'll eat a salad. You'd think I'd weigh about 100 lbs but you'd be wrong. ☹️
I have to make myself eat or I'm losing. This has never happened to me my entire life. I've always had to really watch my calorie intake. I was quite heavy at one time, then down to chubby. Now, trying to keep my weight where it is. 🤷‍♀️

The crock pot is my cooking gadget of choice for being easy!! So crockpot chicken leg quarters, baked potatoes, and a broccoli cheese sauce to go on top of that for today!
That's what I'm doing today. Beef roast with veggies. Austin stayed home today. Has that bug but no coughing..yet. Hope he doesn't get that.
Came upstairs and I hear? Pot roast?? He was excited. Glad he is because that thing cost 18 dollars for the 2 lbs. Enough for all that will eat it. Not sure about the 2 littles. Anyway, glad he has an appetite while sick.

It certainly isn't fun by no means. I've gotten so many shoulder injections ..both.. and then shoulder surgery. Lower back injection. Now knee injections. I'm used to needles. 😁
I'm going in next week for a knee injection. Only cortisone for now, have to wait for insurance to pay for the gel again. Trust me, when you're in pain, you do what works. You know this Granny. You've been through a lot.
Ugh..or..uffda..I am need of my big toes done again. :( I personally think that's the worst needle pain!
I would say the worst needle pain is in your hand. I was developing trigger finger, ortho doctor injected cortisone into the palm of my hand. I screamed! bloody murder and cried! I have a high pain tolerance but that was the worst!

Oh!! I forgot that one! Yes. The first time I had that done for my trigger finger hurt like heck! Then when I was ready for a other one, I went to this dr. that i now go for my knee. It didn't hurt nearly as bad as that first guy. And I was so dreading it! I wonder what he did different.

Had surgery on that hand for the trigger finger. Therapy and all and it didn't work. Surgeon says, you'll get used to it. Said there was nothing more he could do.
So I show this dr I go to for my knee and say, it looks like dupytren's now. He looks, and agrees. Asks for my other hand. Says look, its starting on this hand too. Not sure I'll go for more surgery on my right hand. I've gotten used to it. NOT. But, I can use it, its just quite weak. I drop things. And it hurts sometimes.

Ooo..not into chiropractors. 2 bad experiences with them. One with mom and one with me. Then had a dr. explain what is being done with the stretching and how it loosens things, then doesn't come back after being done over and over. Not saying it isn't for everyone. Obviously some folks like it.
I feel the same way about chiropractors. When the NP I was seeing suggested I see her supervising DO for my back pain I was dubious. Really suspected it was just another form of chiropractic medicine. But I was desperate for relief so I put on my big girl panties and saw him. Learned that Osteopathy is nothing like chiropractic medicine. All gentle manipulation and use of pressure points to get muscles to relax and vertebrae to go back into alignment.

I remembered going to the chiropractor and hearing crunch, crunch CRUNCH and feeling a lot of discomfort. I go to him and the worse I feel is some pops and maybe a bit of stinging. The most physical thing he's done is gently tug on my foot and leg to get my lower back/SI joint to realign.

If you feel adventuresome ask around if you have a good hands on DO in your area and check them out. I don't know what I'm going ot do when mine retires. He's keeping me on my feet.

Was that Chuck roast or arm? Mighty pricey.

One of my best friends growing up her sister went to a chiropractor and I don't know what went wrong, but she ended up paralyzed for a long time, and was never able to walk right again. So that always kept me from going before we had children. When we had children our midwife suggested it for our newborns, but after talking about it hubby and I just were not comfortable with that and afraid of it. And then after researching it the origins of it we are not ok with. So that ended that.

I hardly ever buy roast because they are VERY expensive for our big family! My mama told me she bought one for 30 dollars...I laughed and said "No way!" I can buy a big family pack of hamburger for 15 dollars and get at least two meals out of it!
