Granny's gone and done it again

Hokay, so I missed yesterday cause I was so freaking exhausted and tired that I just went to bed without checking BYC. Goose seems to be settling down when its just me and him, but hubs adds in an x factor and he gets crazier than normal. He's in for Round 3 of his shots next friday (four rounds total now?? g...u...h...) so it looks like by mid December I'll be able to start him in puppy classes and obedience. Thank. Freaking. Gosh. He is a super smart guy...and it is 100% different dealing with this young, more confident pup than when I had Peach...I got her when she was 4.5 months old already, and she did NOT have the confidence Goose has! Alright. Time to catch up on some things, bright side is that I'm doing this ON MY BEASTIE COMPUTER...that's right, I finally got a big kid monitor so we're set (thanks Costco!) I'll post up a pic later from the mobile device cause, well, that's where all the photos are ;)

Peach would get excited and hump faces. Not people faces though, dog faces. And hump air. Crazy girl.

BUT CUTE PUPPY! MUST GET THEM CRAZY! Ugh.

My breeder recommends not getting them neutered until 1-2 years old for that reason. I have some concerns about that, hoping he doesn't turn into a humper/marker....though I know even neutered/spayed early some dogs develop that habit.

I don't think it's 100% ready yet, just closer than it was before.

In their defense, I thought I was ready to handle a GSD pup, since Peach and Lexi were both german shepherd mixes. But oh my word...I am overwhelmed lately. I know it'll get better, and I'm relishing the quiet morning we've been having so far...but...

Yep. Goose was FANTASTIC at letting us know when he had to go outside. Til I was getting out of the shower and hubs missed his cue (which was not very subtle, he'd yelp or make noises). Well, we're working on it again.

Anyway, time for me to put him out for a last pee, I've got an appointment down the hill so away I go.

Really hating this wireless keyboard. It kind of forgets itself or lags itself out sometimes.
Can you imagine throwing some children into the mix?

LOL well, my friend's kids...the eldest is absolutely in love with Goose (which is funny, she used to hate Peach licking her) and the youngest is warming up to him as well...he does get loved on by all the kids out in the desert. But...if you mean our own children...nope. As is the pup is running me ragged...and I can (and have) sent Goose outside or put him in his crate when I just can't even anymore. Kids...that's a little frowned upon.

We just did some tracking games...I left trails of kibble around the house for him haha, and now he's having a nap.

When we rescued our 5 red heelers they were 3 months old and complete heathens. No social skills, no training. They were fed on the ground and the Amish owners had stopped feeding them dog food and had instead tossed them a dead goat kid and dead rabbit to eat.

They have been a challenge to say the least but I have to say that in spite of it all they are smart, eager to please, loving and still learn even pushing 2 years of age. Their only BIG bad habit is that they don't tolerate small animals at all which is tough as we have 5 cats. Two of them have had bad encounters with the Heelers and I can only blame them getting fed dead animals as pups. We tried to get them to tolerate the cats but finally gave up and just keep everyone separated. When I first met the 5 they were playing tug o war with the dead rabbit so I figure that is what they think when they see a small animal. Oh boy, a new toy/lunch or both!

We just started obedience training with them and they are catching on fast. I wish I had gotten started sooner with them but dealing with treatment for the RA combined with the treatment for Osteo in the form of Prolia shots (which kick my butt) put me behind on just about everything and I'm just now starting to get caught up.

Hey Silkies :)

Oh he's sleeping so sound I don't want to get up....but temperature is dropping and i really should close some windows....here's hoping I don't wake him up!

Nope. But he's settled back down again. YAY
Does he still have puppy breath?
