Granny's gone and done it again

I was THIS close! Then we got a weather alert on the radio, severe t-storm coming, with damaging hail... GirlChild's car is usually not parked under cover. I went and roused her and we drove it down to the barn and put it under cover. Came back, finished getting caught up, about half a page ... and Granny's gone, six minutes ago! :hit

I saw that y'all got severe thunderstorms and even a tornado warning down south, @BigBlueHen53. Hope all is well this morning.

We just got thunder lightening and rain here.

I spent the morning out in the woods. :ducdeer! Is all I can say. We have a long strip of wide pasture behind our house that ends at the southern edge of the forest. You have to cross the pasture to get to the timber. Once at the southern edge, there are fingers of timber that reach out into the pasture. We have been seeing a lot of deer in that area and planned to sit just inside the timber line in one of the clearings.

So there I was, dutifully staying on our mowed paths to make as little noise as possible and scanning the timber ahead of me when I suddenly hear something 'JUMP' to my left and hear leaves crunching. I didn't even have to look at that point to see what it was but I looked anyway. Yep, three does burning rubber to flee the bed down area they had been occupying in a small ravine just inside the timber line.

Only shot I had was at their rapidly retreating butts but I knew from past experience that there would be no more opportunities unless a buck was following them around.

Nope. Enjoyed sitting in the timber watching the birds and came home deerless....again.

Not going out today. Too windy but maybe tomorrow.
