They are the most improbable-looking birds. I think they and birds of paradise make me brlieve in unicorns.

I got thumped in the gut by a horse once when my parents were visiting. Curled me up in a little ball and I was hollering Help, help. Our neighbors had peafowls and they started yelling Help, help, and that's what my parents heard so nobody came out to help me. I finally caught my breath and was able crawl into the house. I was awful mad at those dang birds for a while, but I got over it.
