I am pleased I am nearly done changing the quail hutch into a brooder. Still have not gotten the older chicks out of my bathroom . That rooster is in the brooder I was going to put them in. Got some painting to do. If it weren't so cool, I would go work on it now.

Either one use the cones. i imagine a Rooster would be easier than a quall roo. As you can get your hand up it easier. More room. Whereas with a quail, you can only get a finger up it. That is why I spatcock them.

The first one is the hardest. kill them then walk away. After that its just meat. Its not for everyone though. Dont feel bad if you cant. That just means you are a gentle soul.

Kinda like butterfly. You cut out the spine, and clean it out that way. Press the breast downward, so that it is flat.

I cried the first time. Watch a lot of youtube channels on doing it. Then it helps you come to grips with it. I thank them, even pet them, before putting them into the cone.

Like I said earlier, I can't believe Thanksgiving is only a couple days away. And all hell breaks out with Thanksgiving. Use to be Black Friday, but some places are open on Thanksgiving now. Holidays are just to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer IMHO
