Ok, so long story short, Goose ate my charger for my phone. D'oh. Been working on baby blankies for the SIL for chirstmas - even though we haven't heard from the MIL yet if we're invited over for Christmas dinner or not yet. Meah, now that SIL is married/having a kid and we're aging out of our childbearing years....we may go back to chopped liver status. *shrug* But she's also got that malenois that's about five days younger than Goose, so I know she's got her hands full with him too, so either way, I'm playing things by ear. Not even sure if the SIL is coming down for Christmas either! Well, I figure if she does, she does and she gets some blankies, and if she doesn't, then I ship em. (after christmas cause....yeah. Shipping is MADNESS....) Ok, time for catch up!!!!

Yep , I learned after last year. Going to send their's next year by either fed ex or UPS. Evidently there is a giant black hole between here and Pa.

Not just with USPS. I've had something coming from Fedex that's fallen into that black pit of doom and despair too. They're saying it'll arrive on Monday now, after a week and a half....but last scan was in kansas soooo....(that and it's coming unfortunately that surepost thing, where fedex delivers it to USPS and USPS takes it the rest of the way....

The only freaking thing they care about is their pay. To heck with the ones that elected them. Six hundred dollars is just enough to buy some christmas presents, but not enough to pay rent, or other bills. All this while congress will vote in a pay raise. I am so sick of government that cares not for the people. Other countries have been paying their citizens all along. But not the USA. My sister lives in Canada, and those people know how to take care of its people.

They need to freeze their salaries and assets until they can get this crap figured out.

I lived there. The economy is not great and sales taxes are high. It is way too cold, bad enough here. Very few stores left to shop at too.

Yep, my sister loves it because of the free health care, that is the reason so high of tax. She did not have to give up her citizenship to become a Canadian. I won't move there either, because of the short summers. I need my seasons to be somewhat equal. LOL.

That depends on the province. GST (fed) is only 5%, but the provinces have PST/HST (provincial sales tax or a harmonized sales tax...where it just mooshes them both together and we're not sure why), and that's set BY the provinces, so it varies.

There's no finding my mind. It's long gone.

The free health care is not so ideal either. The best doctors go to the US to get more money. There is a big shortage of doctors and nurses. People are waiting years for operations like hip replacements. Also, once you get older they may not do operations you really need because younger people need them. My SIL was pregnant for 10 months because the maternity hospital was full and she had to be induced. Her son has problems with his brain as a result.

They were ready to induce my mom 2 weeks after her due date. (I came the day before she was set to be induced). Hospitals are run by the provinces, sometimes (Calgary/alberta in general is a prime case of this) there's booms and they don't budget to keep up - so you truly don't have enough hospitals for the population, and yes, waiting can happen, but unlike the healthcare insurance here, you can choose your hospital (to an extent - some specialize in things and you'll end up there anyway)

I can’t remember exactly how long. I’ll look. He/she screams and hisses at me. Mango never did when I was taming her Yes, I do find that they have personalities!
