You need a warming plate that you can use for coffee cups, or melting jar candles. Only way I can drink a hot cup of coffee completely.

I did buy a hot plate but I dont have a flat bottomed cup.

Well, it still works, if it is made for cups. All mine have a rig around it, but it keeps my coffee hot. The plate warms up the ceramic and that is how it keeps it warm. Just like a slow cooker.

IT takes it a while to work. Could be your hot plate isn't a "warmer". Humm.
