Granny's gone and done it again

You?
Hot water with lemon and honey.
Ya me. Having a hard time breathing today and this cough is getting pretty bad . I have had it for a week but today is bugging me.

When I was your age, it was much more difficult to communicate with friends. One telephone attached to the wall in the kitchen was it. You had no privacy and the time when you were actually together, face to face, was never wasted... full of important things to talk about before the bus came.

Today, it's so much easier to communicate, like right now we are across the country talking with others! It's amazing! The problem is that sometimes easy things are taken for granted. And sometimes it's hard to really understand what someone is trying to say when you can't see their face. True friends won't take you for granted. And true friends will be forgiving and understand that communicating in this format makes it easy to misinterpret things.
heehee once I turned 12 I had my own phone in my bedroom....but it wasn't its own line. There was still a huge chance of parents picking up...or listening in...or all of the above.

And when I was an older teenager the internet made lots of loud noises and took over an hour to download a single song. ;)

Honestly, I hate the expectation of being constantly connected. I feel like there can be no work/life balance if you can be connected 24/7...or any balance. It's always good to be able to shut off for a while...but that's not understood anymore.

I do too. Hate when I feel like I have to respond to someone right away.
