Making progress. I need to make 2 doors and tack up a bit of wire. Then add perches and cross pieces to attach the roof to. Hopefully put birds in by Monday.

That's fantastic! They sure enjoyed it.Enjoy!
The cooler the storage site, the better. If the bloom is on the eggs, they can easily go 3-4 weeks. I've done it many times and no problem. I wouldn't give him any eggs that are soiled, have hairline cracks or thin shells.Good morning, Grannyites. I have a question I hope y'all can help me with. I've been selling eggs to a customer who gets 6 doz every 2 weeks. Last week he said a friend of his wants the next batch. But he wants them unrefrigerated and unwashed. He does not want them for hatching, as I first thought. He wants them for long-term storage in a crock. That's fine, I'm somewhat familiar with the method. The guy is an OTR truck driver, so he has no refrigeration on his long hauls.
My question is this. Can I safely store eggs like this in my house for a week in this current heat (80-90's)? I may be able to find a coolish spot in the basement. How cool should I try to keep them to be sure they are safe? I do NOT want to take a chance on this guy getting sick from my eggs! Should I even agree to do it? Sign me -
Very Worried!
Hoprfully I'll be able to watch this tomorrow. Very slow connection this time of night. That's fantastic! They sure enjoyed it.
Very helpful, Wishing, thanks. I'll do my best to keep the nests extra-special super clean all week! I usually refrigerate my eggs right away (because I have nowhere else to store them), but don't wash them until the day before they are to be sold - mostly because I am lazy and disorganized, lol!The cooler the storage site, the better. I rarely wash eggs.
Enjoy!
