Granny's gone and done it again

Why is cream cheese always just a hard block.

I try and spread it and it breaks apart my bagel or toast.

advice?
You can buy spreadable cc in a tub. Or leave it out on the counter for a while till it softens. Or cut off a chunk and put it in the microwave using the Melt feature. Look on the inside of the door frame of the microwave for details.

Ohh, okay. I'll do that.

I have the "spreadable" kind in flavors, but plain only in a big block... like butter. I'll try melting it a bit next time...
