Thinking about patching up my original chicken pen/house & going to chicken auction Friday night. I can put 10-12 hens in there.

2nd week in May here, then it didn't rain for 3 1/2 weeks.

Do you use hardware clothe? We have a fence, but the fence gaps are way to large. Small and tall enough to keep out deer, but too large for rabbits. Maybe I can try growing in pots for now...

no hardware cloth--fence is small gaps and down more than 6" in ground

Tilled almost 2 hours in garden, trying to get it weed free by Friday, dh said tropical depression may dump 8" of rain on us Saturday, gonna plant more peas tomorrow.

I went out and mowed some more after the sun went down. The weeds are waist high. I went over the same spot 3xs. The part of the mower that keeps grass from flying in your face broke off again and the string attached to it smacked my arm leaving a bad spot.

I'm exhausted- 5 hrs working in the garden & I didn't get a nap.
