Granny's gone and done it again

Pert, you were right, it has been an exciting morning! I thought I knew where all my chick stuff was, well guess what! I had to feed these babies some all-flock crumble till I could run go get them some. And what used to be our local farm supply store is now a restaurant/ convenience store - population 323 and we now have at least 4 restaurants! So I had to go all the way to TOWN town and get what I needed. Pic follows.

Here you go. Yes they are in a tub. Yes they will quickly outgrow it. We have another tub and will separate them. We cut open the lid and covered it with plastic netting so they can't hop out and it provides ventilation. Works great. The tub is halfway in a closet and the lamp is hanging from the clothes pole. It can be elevated as they grow to provide less heat. This lamp provides white heat. At night we turn it off and plug in its companion, a red heat lamp. Non-Teflon, of course.

When I went to get my phone to take a picture, they were all under the light but not huddld together. Of course when I came back ready to take the pic, they were all huddled! They seem to be comfortable. More pics later.
