Here at Snake central, we lost 3 eggs or chicks plus a full grown bantam frizzle hen to a four foot snake today. Really sick and tired of snakes

hi all, Home from the drs. If I didnt have that van I couldnt stand the trip. So hot out today. Im very thankful for it.

I just cant stand them. I know they have their place in the food chain. lol My son had one for a pet and I had to force feed the silly thing. It died.

Sounds scary! Do you run if the snake is in the S position?

I would keep my distance, but not run. Most snakes will not chase you. They're just as scared as you are. If there are other people around, I would keep my eye on the snake and holler at somebody to bring an axe or a shovel. But this is only if the snake is in my space. In my hen house, my carport, or very close to my house, where it may be a hazard to me or mine. If I were to encounter a snake while hiking, I'd avoid it and leave it alone because after all, I'm in HIS backyard.

well I did it again. I was getting in the van to come home and felt a bug on my neck. I had just shooed a wasp away and figured thats what it was. I jumped out of the van and had my shirt up around my neck when I seen the look of horror on Toms face and stopped. I dont think anyone was in the parking lot this time anyway. Come to find out it was a beetle of some sort.
I tried the towel today as well. Not sure if it worked or not. Tomorrow will tell the story.
