Granny's gone and done it again

So I have a question about my fluffmuffins. I've been giving them probiotic water as well as plain. I made up a gallon the first day and have been giving them a fresh quart every morning. Tonight I went to make up another batch and see on the envelope it says make up a fresh batch DAILY. Each packet makes a gallon and costs close to $4 each. Seriously? Can I refrigerate it or do I really have to throw 3 quarts away every day?

I sure wouldn't throw any away at that price.

Is it a powder? Do you have to use all the powder once opened?

are they sick?
No, I just did it to help them recover from shipping stress. But so far not a single one has had pasty butt so I thought I should continue. Should I not?

Well, i guess not, but it's a little packet, about a spoonful. It would be hard to divide into four equal portions.
