Granny's gone and done it again

:yaTrue buuuut….should still be able to be on the parents insurance.
Other benefits besides health ins...

The throw-away is supposed to be good for the septic, so it's not a waste. I am supposed to feed it a little mashed potato flakes occasionally, not sugar.
Yes, I remember now... that's what my sis did too. That's when she discovered she actually liked mashed taters out of a box!

He needs an earring!!

Fishing? Horses? Nothing?? What do YOU do for fun?
She reads your posts and enjoys your pictures!! :)

Actually had rain?
Southwestern states get some monsoon storms in the summer. NM, AZ, and southern CA have been getting a lot this year.

I do not add sugar to my starter. sourdough bacteria and yeast convert the flour to sugar
I think she only did the sugar occasionally if her starter had been neglected and she wanted to make something right away. Most of the time it just languished in the back of the fridge. Went months a few times without feeding. It was a survivor! She originally "caught" it outside. It was wild sourdough!

How was the water at the beach, was it warm or cold? Last time I was at Galveston the water was really warm. It wasn't even refreshing.
Maybe upper 50s this time of year, although once you get a bit more south of Carmel, the warmer southern currents can be felt. Ocean swimming without a wetsuit is only good closer to Los Angeles and southward.
The cold ocean temps are part of why we don't get hurricane type storms here.

Lol what. A well muscled man in a tight t shirt cleaning house? What’s not to like lol

I have rain envy!!!

:love they don't make em like that anymore.

I am. The coworker that has been giving me so much anxiety got fired. I'm so glad. And I love a few coworkers that make my time worth it. Last night my coworker , my gm, and I sat in the office and just talked for a little while. My "work best friend" and I have a great time every day. Some days just really really suck
Yay for the firing! :ya After being stuck at home due to covid, it's nice to be able to socialize. I'm glad you have some great coworkers.
We all have sucky days... :hugs

sourdough is very hardy!

For neglected starter, adding a tablespoon of organic applecider vinegar and tablespoon of potato flour\starch helps get it going again.

I have never killed my starter LOL!

I can't remember why she finally tossed the whole thing. I'll have to ask her and we can take a stroll down memory lane.
I am not a baker. In fact, I don't eat flour any more (or any starchy carbs). I do miss bread, but I don't miss the extra 50lbs I was hauling around.

Have you posted pics of your quail? I bet granny would love to see them.
Oh wait... California quail?
Now I need to know!
Nope, coturnix. I do have photos of CA quail though, as they are wild here and roam the place, sadly, they are not great photos, I only download good ones. Mainly because raw photos (which is what I shoot in) take up a ton of storage.
