So Far we have not had a power shutdown from fire danger yet. We are on the same grid as the county jail so they try to keep us up on power here!

I liked the rain but it is not usually enough to put out the lightening fires.

We got a decent soaking! Definitely would have made it easier to put out a fire, especially since we didn't get much wind at all. Helped me sleep for sure.

All change and about to get busy again. Just had 4 weeks off work after having carpel tunnel surgery on my hand. Looking forward to going back but not in another sense.

We had several PSPS last year in addition to an evacuation (our second). October is usually the driest, so we're not over the hump yet. Local weather guy said some models give hope for an early rain season this year.

Is home chef the best meal delivery ? I know you have tried a few different companies.

I’ve done …crap who was the first one….hello fresh (crappy customer service) and now am on HomeChef. Their customer service is pretty good, food choices are good and I like that you can substitute the proteins easily - so if they’re doing something that’s fishy but looks good otherwise I can sub with chicken or something else

Yes. I was just talking to my dad about this yesterday, trying to figure out how to run the well pump if pg&e PSPSed us last night. I was thinking about a dedicated solar panel/battery combo, but I think a big water storage tank would be easier. Keep me from freaking out during all the power outages. I can live without power fairly easily, except for the water. The well is up hill, so no problem that way.

My neighbor across the street got some sort of grant for solar and a Tesla battery wall because he’s on well. I’ll ask him how he got it/who offered it.
