I work on 2 other yards and work Fridays on the yard where I keep Harry. I look after 7 ponies on a yard in a morning for an OAP couple who are now both retired then on an afternoon I look after another 5. Afternoon job has 3 big boys and 2 shetlands. Olivia is a miniature and has got a real attitude, actually she’s a madam

Yes indeed! Makes more sense when you remember they descended from dinosaurs. That saying about a dog eat dog world... should be bird eat bird.

Can hardly believe my eyes just now! Was out back trying to see what some hens were fussing about. Heard a shrill sound and saw 2 Cooper's hawks being chased out of the big oak by several very small birds. It happened so quickly. The little birds chased the shrieking hawks over the house and into a neighbor's tree. I saw them zoom and whirl and dive bomb the hawks. Amazing. Could see the little ones clearly as they triumphantly zoomed back over to my yard... they were hummingbirds! 5 of them! Amazing! And I had just refilled their feeders too. I've always said hummers are ferocious beasts, but this was unexpected.
Lately those hawks have turned my yard into a cafeteria. I've found remains of quail, dove, poor little Towhee, and most recently a scrub jay. I thought we needed crows around to keep the hawks away. Who needs crows when we've got hummers!
