I've seen them in captivity, but never one in the wild. Makes me sad to see them caged.We had one in a small cage at WSU where I grew up. It was the school mascot. They would put it a small cage and wheel it around at half time GO COUGARS! I would go visit it all time. Magnificent animal.
It's very rare and extremely rare that someone is killed by one. It's mostly the young males that get pushed into undesirable territories (with too many people) and they have trouble finding enough to eat... so they eat what they find, like the family cat.makes sense.

Yeah, something like that. Some have it at 27, but it's pretty rare. They are on hundreds of different rural properties out here, and rarely does a person ever see one. Stealth cats!less then 20 peeps in the last 100 years in N America
