Granny's gone and done it again

They are high risk? Age and any co morbidities ? Why don’t you go visit them? It would be nice to get away. Wow what a storm last night! Must of rained three inches. Wish it would rain up north.
Not really. Just…hyper aware I guess.
hey Star, how was your day?
Sorry granny. Got distracted. Ugh. Between preparing crap for a lawyer (work related), payroll and everything else…I need clones! Was in the office til about 1:40 today and wish I stayed longer to get a part of the legal project finished. But had to go pick up cupcakes for a coworkers bday tomorrow. Tomorrow I’ll probably be distracted again too…sigh

Oh and Curly does NOT like the smell of hydrolic fluid, she came "bouncing" over to see me and when I held out my hand for "sniffs" she snuffed and did a 180 and kicking her heels out went tear-assing away. The goof ball.
Can’t say as I blame her. Stinky stuff
OH and we broke a record from 1920 for heat today. Managed to hit 92* :sick
Too hot!!

Here’s a flower from my neighbors hibiscus cause it’s pretty, the sunset tonight for the same reason, and a goofball goose. C824414F-DF9C-48B9-AD95-CA007ABE5940.jpeg 7B1C0D99-605D-45A2-8CFC-6449D92B51D7.jpeg D41889A6-7C5E-4606-B0EA-D311D7926037.jpeg 785AB692-31EF-4134-80BD-0F768637D8B6.jpeg

That's why this guy started the tracking study, so people understand how they live. You kill one male lion thinking you solved your predator problem, but 5 young males will move in and try to take the territory so you end up with even more predators.

I'm going to try for a nap before I have to get up... hopefully.
Just like killing feral cats. 5 more move in.

Yeah, something like that. Some have it at 27, but it's pretty rare. They are on hundreds of different rural properties out here, and rarely does a person ever see one. Stealth cats!
My neighbor in TN saw one in her yard!

We have had a little excitement around here. There is a tracking project for mtn lions in this county. They trap the cats and put on collars that send out location signals. A six yr old male has a malfunctioning collar and they located him up at my dad's place. The cat (P13) killed a deer in the creek about 50 ft from dad's bedroom! They found the deer and brought out trap, baited it with the rest of the deer carcass, and are hoping P13 will get caught tonight. They couldn't tell if he was still near because the collar quit sending this afternoon. They have cameras on the trap and a sensor that will go off if he trips the door shut. Hoping he gets caught since they might not have another chance to catch him again since they won't be able to find him.
The guy in charge, Quinton, will call be if P13 gets caught and we will go up and watch the collar exchange. Hopefully it will be a reasonable time, like in an hour or 2, but I'm betting on 4am. 50 years we've been here and I've never seen a mtn lion in the wild. I'm not missing this chance!

Here's some info about the program. There is a pic of P13 from a few yes ago.

I hope they can catch him!
