Boy I've learned that one .. a long time ago. I have a son with Spina Bifida. Born in the 80's. I learned real quick to watch, and, say. Same went for the nurses that were in charge. I had favorites when when he was in for any of his surgeries. If it was another nurse, they were watched like a hawk. Had to do some things myself at times. Like catheterize him when it they kept getting it wrong. Yes, watch. My husband actually saved my life after a surgery I had. A hysterectomy. The Dr. had left some bleeders. My BP kept dropping. Nurses were out in the hall having a go away party for another nurse. My BP kept dropping.. husband was watching the machine .. kept going out to get a nurse. At first they said it was normal for it to drop right after surgery. But it kept going down. Finally he's out there telling them..this isn't normal. Long story short. They.. finally get the Dr. to answer his page. He gets there to see me blending in with the sheets as he put it..has to open me up and stop three bleeders he admits he left thinking they were small enough to stop on their own. I needed three units of blood. But we all know Drs are not exactly right about a lot of things.
