Granny's gone and done it again

Hi, I go by Jory. It actually has a mineral meaning.

About a year and a half ago DH bamboozled my daughter and I into an arrangement neither of us wanted. We live in a shared tenancy in a small 3 bedroom mobile on a piece of property that none of us can afford alone.

Grandma, me, never intended to need to raise another child. Especially one so spoiled and used to his own way. We went rounds for a while. He did learn to control himself and quit hitting his teachers, classmates, and caregiver.

I tried really hard to tell DH that I was too old to take on a child and a homestead at this point.

The child is better, the property looks like crap.

Last summer (2020) DH had to go on a warranty repair in Barrow, Alaska. It was okay, but he was gone when the work needed done.

This summer (2021) DH had to go on a warranty repair on Shishmaref island in the bearing sea.
He came home in a very small box after walking into a 'Rona delta-d outbreak that he wasn't prepared for.
He died Oct 5.

So, here I sit, with people who don't really want me, in a situation we can't afford. Trying to work out who needs notification, what to do, and fending off his family members who are determined to take his ashes away.
We were married for 37 years.

So, a new beginning for me I guess. Once I can find somewhere I actually can belong.
I am sorry to read this!

A wise elderly grandma once told me "this too shall pass" The grieving period is upon you but there is hope for the future!

Do you have grass year round ?
It depends on the grass. Fescue, rye and bluegrass types of winter grass will grow and stay green but slow down a bunch in December to January. Summer grasses like Bermuda grass and zoyzia grass will turn brown in the winter. We has zoyzia grass when we lived in Corning California.

I planted 150lbs of Ky. blue grass here. Most of it ran down hill and into the neighbors pond.
