Granny's gone and done it again

Spent most of the afternoon at the GI Doctors. Found out I'm going to live. No more tests. YAY!!!!!!! She is positive she found the cause of my intestinal bleed I had. Diverticulitis/diverticulosis. I also have a chronic gastritis that I'll just have to try to keep under control and deal with by watching what I eat.

I have to say this. I've always been one who said the only way I'd ever get a colonoscopy was if my doctor darted me with a tranquilizer gun and dragged me to the hospital and got it done before I woke up. I guess it's a 'nurse' thing but having gone through the trip to the ER, the horrible pain of Diverticulitis colic, the bleeding, the infection, I can honestly say to all the folks who said 'get the danged colonoscopy' years ago, you were right. I won't be stubborn any more. Well at least not a LOT stubborn.

Folks, Get the colonoscopy done. I could have prevented myself a lot of physical discomfort if I had done just that three years ago. It's not bad. The prep sucks but the Propofol nap is divine.

most people don’t have the money to buy two months food at a time. In that case you buy something extra every time you go to store. Something that is good for food storage. My religion asks we keep 2 years worth of food storage for the last days. Latter Day Saints.
We aren't LDS but we admire that tenant of your faith. The local Amish do the same thing. Most have at least a years worth of food on hand.

We didn't buy everything at once. Frankly that would be a bite for us as well but I slowly built up my stores over a years time. Now I have a comfortable amount of food in the pantry and freezer and keep a tally of what we use so now I'm just doing maintenance, replacing what we use. Having a supply on hand has saved our bacon a couple of times when we have been snowed in.

We have a snow event coming to visit us this weekend, but I've started an on line order for perishables that I hope we can get picked up on Monday or Tuesday. And yes, when I replace something, instead of buying one, I buy two if possible. Every little bit helps.

I have had that done a few times. My family history runs strong for colon cancer. I have had pre cancerous polyps removed a few times too. My Poor Robert had one and they did him wrong. He did all the prep right and before they knocked him out they gave him 3 enemas. He was just little and he screamed . They were going to do a 4th and I said you either knock him out first or cancel. They did the test without the last one. Its where they found his crohns.
