Granny's gone and done it again

Spent most of the afternoon at the GI Doctors. Found out I'm going to live. No more tests. YAY!!!!!!! She is positive she found the cause of my intestinal bleed I had. Diverticulitis/diverticulosis. I also have a chronic gastritis that I'll just have to try to keep under control and deal with by watching what I eat.

I have to say this. I've always been one who said the only way I'd ever get a colonoscopy was if my doctor darted me with a tranquilizer gun and dragged me to the hospital and got it done before I woke up. I guess it's a 'nurse' thing but having gone through the trip to the ER, the horrible pain of Diverticulitis colic, the bleeding, the infection, I can honestly say to all the folks who said 'get the danged colonoscopy' years ago, you were right. I won't be stubborn any more. Well at least not a LOT stubborn.

Folks, Get the colonoscopy done. I could have prevented myself a lot of physical discomfort if I had done just that three years ago. It's not bad. The prep sucks but the Propofol nap is divine.
Just had one this year, plus an endoscopy at the same time. I've been having gastric problems since March. It's aweful. Started with cdiff. Takes months the Dr says, for the colon to get back to normal. Ugh. I feel your pain when meds don't work for a while. I have a daughter in law that has what you have. She doesn't believe in meds. She studied and worked hard on her diet. Last colonoscopy showed, she was well! That girl had it bad too. They warned her if she didn't take meds she could very easily get cancer. Well, she did it .. got well without meds. She's cut a lot out of her diet, she doesn't want to go through that again!

I have been told I had that too. they just told me to not eat seeds. Sometimes I do anyway and pay for it with pain. My dad had to wear a bag because of it but they reversed it. Sister too with the bag. another sister with the bag because of cancer.
